Obverse: Stage A: Die chip on the nose. Stage B: More die cracks and chips formed. Die cracks and chips on the back of the lips, the cheek, the nose, the eyebrow, and in the hair.
Reverse: Stage A: Die cracks and chips on the bottom of the torch. Die gouge to the left of the U in UNITED. Die gouge between the E in DIME and the second U in UNUM. Stage B: Stage A die gouges weak but still present. More die cracks and chips formed. Retained interior die break on the bottom of the torch. Die cracks and chips on the top and bottom of the torch, and in some of the olive and oak branches. Die gouge between the U and N in UNITED. Die gouge inside the lower portion of the N in UNITED. Die gouge to the left of the A in STATES.
