Die Markers:
Obverse: Numerous strong die scratches from E-W throughout the obverse. Long die scratch extends WNW from the top of the 8. A single NW-SE die scratch through WE.
Reverse: Numerous strong E-W die scratches throughout the reverse. The die scratches may not perfectly match on earlier die states (1DO-017). Strong NW-SE die scratch through the N in CENT.

Die Markers:
Obverse: Stage A: DDO-002, 1DO-004. Die scratch runs south from the bottom left of the E in LIBERTY. Die scratch runs NNW from the top of the R in LIBERTY. Old die scratches below chin. Stage B: Die scratches around LIBERTY still present, die scratches under chin are not. Strong die gouge below the 8.
Reverse: Stage A: DDO-002, 1DO-004. Die scratches between the N and E in ONE. Stage B: Die scratches no longer present. Die gouge inside the lower portion of the R in AMERICA. Large die gouge below the I in LIBERTY. Die gouge at the top right of the memorial building. Die gouges between the upper U and N in UNITED. Large die gouge west of the U in UNITED. Die pitting between the O and N in ONE.
